ADVICE - E-SCOOTERS |
It's not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters. This means it’s illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces, such as parks, street pavements, and shopping centres .If you know anyone who owns an e-scooter, it can only be used on private land .but you must have the permission of the landowner to do so. There has been several reports in the UK ,including Humberside of serious injury and near misses.
Anyone seen to be using these in a public place, risk having this seized under the S.165 Road Traffic Act 1988 for having no insurance.
